DASH Licence Provisions
Licences Are Purchased
-
DASH licences are available only for purchase. No rentals are
available.
-
DASH licences are available to companies for installation on their
own server(s). No hosted option is available.
-
All licences are costed and invoiced in Canadian dollars.
Licences are User-Based
-
Each person accessing DASH for any purpose is a "user". This
includes data entry clerks, CATI interviewers, supervisors,
programmers, and client service staff.
-
Each DASH licence stipulates the maximum number of user that may
access DASH at any time.
-
Each type of licence has a minimum number of users; for the Core
Licence, this minimum is 1, for the optional Web Licence it is
250, and for the optional Telephony Licence it is 20.
-
Any number of users may be added above each minimum licence. There
are no fixed levels or ranges.
Multi-User Licences are "Floating"
-
The DASH Core Licence and Telephony Licence are not tied to
specific stations or locations. Access is granted dynamically to
users at any station/location.
-
Users may be local and/or remote in any combination.
The Core Licence is "Integrated"
-
The DASH Core Licence includes all "core" operations for field
work: data entry, CATI, survey management, and tabulations. There
are no separate modules for each application.
-
There can be any mix of these applications to the limit of the
user licence.
-
This mix can change according to workload requirements; for
example, the licence may be used by data entry clerks, coders and
programmers during daytime shifts on weekdays but by CATI
interviewers on evenings and weekends.
Licences are Company-Wide
-
All users in a company are covered by a single licence.
-
The single licence covers centralized and decentralized
operations, single-server and multiple-server installations, and
also single and multiple sites.
-
Wholly-owned subsidiaries are eligible to be included in the same
licence but not outsourcing partners.
Licence Ownership has Rules
-
When a company with a DASH licence is totally acquired by another
company, licence ownership passes to the acquiring company.
-
No company may sell or otherwise transfer its DASH licence to
another organization.
-
DASH is copyrighted. Each licence-holder is responsible for
ensuring that this copyright is respected and and that no illegal
copies are made.
